One payment, no renewal, and the Throttle+ feature set for the lifetime of the platform. This page defines that phrase exactly, says what is included and what is not, and says plainly what ends the grant and what happens to your money when it does.
1. What this page is
The specific terms of one purchase, in one place.
The BETA Supporter offer is a single payment of $250 that funds the build. The thank-you is the Throttle+ feature set for the lifetime of the platform, plus a badge and 250 points. There is no renewal and nothing to cancel.
This page is the full terms of that purchase. It sits inside section 12 of our Terms of service and does not replace it: everything in the Terms of service still applies to you. Where the two differ about the supporter grant specifically, this page governs.
It is written in short sentences because a term nobody can read is a term nobody agreed to. If any of it is unclear, email [email protected] before you pay, not after.
2. Lifetime of the platform
A defined term, not a figure of speech.
Lifetime of the platform means the period during which Throttle Toys operates the Throttle service under its current ownership and brand.
We use that whole phrase and never the first word on its own. The word on its own suggests a promise no small company can honestly make, and an unbounded promise is the one that eventually has to be broken.
2.1 What it does mean
- For as long as we keep running Throttle as Throttle, you keep the features you paid for.
- There is no expiry date, no renewal and nothing to cancel.
- We cannot take the grant away because you stopped visiting, or because we would rather you were paying monthly.
- We cannot quietly reduce a published fair-use cap on you. See section 5.
2.2 What it does not mean
- It is not a promise that Throttle Toys will exist forever. No company can make that promise truthfully.
- It is not a promise that survives a sale, a merger or a rebrand. Section 3 sets out exactly what happens then.
- It is not a claim on whatever we build next. Section 4 sets out what is and is not included.
- It is not measured by how long you live. It is measured by how long this service runs, under this owner, under this name.
3. When the grant ends
Four events. These are the only four.
The grant ends if any one of the following happens. Nothing else ends it, and we are not reserving a general right to end it at will.

We would rather print this before you pay than discover it together afterwards. It is also why the offer is capped, why it is framed as funding the build rather than buying a perpetuity, and why there is an unconditional refund window in section 9.
Your badge is not affected by any of this. See section 7.
4. The feature set is fixed at purchase
What you get is the list published on the day you paid.
What you get is the list of Throttle+ features published on /pricing on the day you paid. With your purchase we record that list and link it from your billing page, so what you bought stays a document rather than a memory.
We may change or remove an individual feature for a technical or legal reason — a data source closes, a supplier withdraws, a regulator says no. When we do, we will say why.
The grant confers no right to anything new: no future product, tier, add-on, API, data product, Deal Hunter feature or Enterprise feature, whether or not it is later described as part of Throttle+.
If we build something better, it is a new product and it is not included. That is the plainest way we can put it. A one-time payment made during a beta cannot buy every product a company might ever ship, and pretending otherwise would be the promise that later has to be broken.
The exclusions in section 12 of the Terms of service still apply on top of this: CSV export, personal API keys, the Enterprise API, and any future data product, research subscription or enterprise tier are separate products and are not included now or later.
5. Fair use
Published caps, printed before you pay, not reduced afterwards.
Throttle+ features come to a supporter under the fair-use caps below. They are printed here and on /pricing before you pay, which is the whole difference between a fair-use cap and a bait and switch. Section 12.2 of the Terms of service says we will not quietly reduce a published cap on an existing supporter, and that promise is not changed by anything on this page.

We may add reasonable technical protections against automated abuse of a supporter account, and we may suspend an account that breaches section 4 of the Terms of service.
6. Personal to you
- One per account.
- Not transferable and not assignable. You cannot sell it, gift it, rent it or move it to another account.
- No cash value, and not redeemable for money.
- It cannot be combined with another offer, or with a Throttle+ subscription. If you already subscribe to Throttle+, this offer is not for you and the checkout will say so rather than taking your money.
7. The badge
The animated BETA Supporter badge stays on your profile and your posts for as long as the Throttle community exists, together with the 250 points granted with it. It is not affected by section 3.
That is deliberate. The badge costs us nothing to keep and it is the part of the purchase people actually care about. Ending it alongside the feature grant would be the mean reading of an already narrow clause, so we wrote the clause the other way.
The badge can still be removed from an account suspended for breaching section 4 of the Terms of service. That is a conduct rule, not a term of this purchase.
8. The offer
Capped, dated, and it does not reopen.

When it closes, the tile on /pricing stays up in a dated closed state. It does not reopen, and it does not reappear later under a different name. A limited offer that quietly comes back is a dark pattern and we are not doing it.
The count on the pricing page is the real number of places taken. There is no floor, no rounding and no number chosen to look scarce.
The cap is a hard number. We enforce it at the moment the badge is granted, not only when you open the checkout page, because a checkout session stays valid for about a day. If a payment completes after the last place has gone, we do not grant the badge, the points or the access, and we refund the payment in full. We issue that refund ourselves; it is not conditional on you asking and it is not limited by the window in section 9. Section 12.3 of the Terms of service states that promise in full.
9. Refunds
Full refund on request within 14 days of purchase, no reason needed. Email [email protected] and we will return the payment.
After 14 days there are no refunds, including on the four events in section 3. That is the trade the offer makes and it is why the window exists at all: the money funds work that has already been done by the time it is spent.
The over-cap refund in section 8 is a separate promise and is not limited by the 14-day window.
If we close your account for a reason that is not a breach by you, section 16 of the Terms of service gives you a full refund of this payment, and that promise is not limited by the 14-day window either.
Your statutory refund rights are unaffected by anything in this section. If you are thinking about a chargeback, email us first — we would rather refund you than argue with a card network.
10. Changes to these terms
Never retroactive. The version you bought under is the version that binds us.
We may update this page. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and earlier versions are available on request.
A change applies only to BETA Supporter purchases made on or after the date it takes effect. It is never retroactive. If you bought a place before a change, the version published on the day you paid is the version that binds us.
For a material change we give notice under section 23 of the Terms of service: at least 14 days, and 30 days where the change affects what you pay.
These terms first took effect on . They are narrower than the supporter terms published before that date in two ways: the feature set is now fixed at purchase rather than including later additions to Throttle+, and the grant now ends on a sale, merger, transfer or rebrand unless the new owner elects in writing to continue it. No BETA Supporter place had been sold when this page went live — the offer has never been open — so no existing purchase was narrowed by it.
