Scooters for sale

Scooters and mopeds are shopped by engine size first, and they are some of the least expensive machines we index.

A 49 cc moped, a 150 cc commuter and a 300 cc maxi-scooter are different purchases, so engine size is the first filter here. The scooters on Throttle come from powersports dealers' own websites, listed beside their motorcycles, which makes comparing one model across several dealers the quickest way to see a fair price.

What to check before you buy

  • · Check the engine size against your licence: in many states a 49 cc moped rides on a car licence, and anything larger needs a motorcycle endorsement.
  • · Ask whether the price includes freight, setup and the documentation fee; on an inexpensive scooter they can be a large share of the total.
  • · On a used scooter the tyres, drive belt and battery matter more than the mileage.
