THE BACKWOODS TAKE The 2027 Polaris RANGER CREW XD 1500 NorthStar Ultimate is built for the owner who needs more than a comfortable recreational side-by-side. This is Polaris’ extreme-duty, six-person work platform, combining serious hauling and towing capability with a fully enclosed, climate-controlled cab. Finished in Super Graphite, it delivers a clean, premium appearance without losing the rugged character expected from a working RANGER. The 1,498cc three-cylinder ProStar engine produces 110 horsepower and 105 lb.-ft. of torque. That power is delivered through Polaris’ STEELDRIVE automatic transmission, which uses a fully sealed, liquid-cooled steel-belt design instead of a conventional rubber drive belt. Smooth engagement, hill assist, controlled low-speed creep and selectable drive modes give the driver precise control when backing up to a trailer, moving heavy loads or working across uneven ground. With a 3,500-pound towing capacity, 1,500-pound cargo-box capacity and 1,650-pound payload rating, the Crew XD 1500 can move equipment, firewood, feed, tools and heavy trailers with fewer trips. An electronic cargo-box lift makes unloading easier, while the factory-installed 6,000-pound winch provides useful pulling and recovery capability. Fifteen inches of ground clearance and 30-inch, 8-ply Kenda Cross Trail tires help it manage rocks, ruts, snow and rough Pennsylvania property. The NorthStar Ultimate package turns that capability into a true year-round machine. Its factory-installed heating and air-conditioning system, enclosed cab, tinted power windows and tip-out windshield provide protection from cold, heat, rain, dust and snow. Heated seats add cold-weather comfort, while the seven-inch RIDE COMMAND display, factory rear camera, JBL audio and connected vehicle services bring navigation, machine information and convenience directly into the cab. The Crew chassis provides seating for up to six people, making it a strong choice for farms, larger properties, work crews, hunting groups and families who need to move people and equipment together. A cargo-box work light and 12-volt box power supply also make it easier to run equipment or complete jobs before sunrise and after dark. If your use is primarily lighter property work, casual trail riding or occasional hauling, the RANGER CREW XP 1000 NorthStar may be easier to justify. If you routinely move heavy loads, pull larger trailers, carry several passengers or work in every season, the XD 1500 earns its place.
