THE BACKWOODS TAKE For many ATV buyers, the Polaris Sportsman 570 EPS is the sweet spot in the lineup. It has enough power for real work and recreational riding, useful standard equipment and electronic power steering without pushing the price into the larger-bore ATV category. The 567cc engine produces 44 horsepower, giving the Sportsman 570 enough response for wooded trails, hills and everyday property use. On-demand all-wheel drive automatically provides additional traction when the rear tires begin to slip, while 11.5 inches of ground clearance helps it move through ruts, rocks, snow and uneven terrain. Multi-select electronic power steering makes a meaningful difference when maneuvering at low speeds, riding longer distances or working with a front-mounted plow. The system lets the rider select the desired level of steering assistance instead of relying on one fixed setting. The EPS trim also includes a 3,500-pound winch, LED pod and headlights, a front trail bumper, rear rack extenders, front CV guards and an engine braking system. Combined front and rear rack capacity is 270 pounds, and the standard receiver supports up to 1,350 pounds of towing. BEST FOR Hunting and wooded property access Snow plowing and winter chores Property maintenance Carrying tools, supplies and outdoor gear Recreational trail riding Buyers who want useful factory equipment without stepping into a premium trim WHY WE LIKE THE 570 EPS The important word here is balance. The 570 EPS is comfortable enough for longer trail rides, capable enough for meaningful work and still priced below the more heavily equipped Trail and Ultimate models. The factory winch and power steering are not accessories that simply look good on the showroom floor. They are features owners routinely use. For most homeowners, hunters and recreational riders, it provides the equipment that matters without adding technology they may not need. THE BACKWOODS VERDICT If you tell us you want one ATV that can plow the driveway, check the property, carry hunting gear and still be enjoyable on the trail, the Sportsman 570 EPS is normally where we start the conversation. The standard Sportsman 570 can save money if you do not need power steering or a winch. The Sportsman 570 Trail is the better step up if your riding includes rougher terrain and you want more storage, larger tires and additional trail-focused protection. ALSO CONSIDERING? Compare the Sportsman 570 EPS with the standard 570 for a lower entry price or the Sportsman 570 Trail for upgraded suspension, tires, storage and downhill control.
